Hot, dry weather is expected in the Inland Empire today and Saturday, with temperatures running 15 to 20 degrees higher than average in some valley areas, National Weather Service forecasters said.

In Lake Elsinore, the Friday and Saturday's high is expected to reach 106 degrees. The mercury is expected to reach 92 in the mountains below 6,000 feet, 103 in San Bernardino and Palm Springs, 104 in Riverside, and up to 106 degrees in the desert, according to the NWS.

The NWS advised those planning to be outdoors to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
