Wildomar’s Public Communications

WILDOMAR'S NEXT STEP? SECRET MEETINGS
WILDOMAR'S NEXT STEP? SECRET MEETINGS

…Hit Rock Bottom with Bare Minimum Standards

Update as of 1-31-2014

In response to someone who is evidently content with the bare minimum legal communication requirements; here is my response:

As to the City's communications and notifications, our elected officials have made commitments to certain standards or systems which they have put in place at considerable expense to the taxpayers', and they have recommitted to those systems or protocols repeatedly in public announcements and e-mail correspondence. That they now are selectively failing to keep their promises or meet the standards which they, themselves, have put in place is cause for concern and perhaps alarm. Some people see a pattern of secrecy and deliberate concealment in this behavior which has no place in what should be open, honest local government.

As Wildomar citizens’ ire over the lack of decent communications with the public reaches a new high, the city’s response is to trot out the lame excuse of using the bare minimum legal requirements.  And, sometimes they don’t even do that!

If pressured further, they have the audacity to remind us that the city has retrenched to meeting only the lowest of the minimal legal notice requirements.  This is followed up with pleas of being overwhelmed, overworked and short staffed...and no commitment to when the system will be functioning reliably again.

For those of you who may think this issue is a "trivial" point, consider how important it would have been to know about the Walmart Scoping meeting which was held last week without any e-mail or website notices for Wildomar residents.  Wouldn't you have wanted to know about that and have the chance to express your opinion?

The upshot of these questionable practices is that only a handful of citizens attended an extremely important Scoping meeting.  While by comparison, the previous meeting on the Walmart project, held before incorporation drew maybe 200 attendees!

Lake Elsinore Resident - before that can happen one needs to know when they will all be together.

Martha, while I agree with your desire to hold public officials accountable, I'd have to disagree with this generalization of the City. Any citizen may register on the city's website to be notified of public meetings. For the most recent Parks Subcommittee Meeting, the City posted signs at Windsong Park.
Smalltown Boy January 29, 2014 at 05:02 PM
LER, why dont you come to a council meeting and share your thoughts at the microphone?
Martha L. Bridges January 29, 2014 at 06:01 PM
Smalltown Boy, Of the city's own admission, which I have confirmation of in writing as of yesterday, the city's website notification system has not been working for at least several weeks. I have politely called this to staff's attention numerous times, and been assured that the matter was being addressed - but it is still not working. I have also noticed that any number of areas on the website are way out-of-date.

Martha I can't wait to see Wildomar under the microscope of A.G. Harris's investigative team, who knows it could be any day now?

I am confused. Why does this blog keep moving to the top over more recent(and in my opinion more interesting) blogs? If the city is following the "the minimal legal notice requirements." then aren't they following the law? It seems as if I read complaints from many no matter what the city does. It is never enough.

"Why does this blog keep moving to the top over more recent(and in my opinion more interesting) blogs?" REPLY: LOTSAKA, Quit being a Sheila.

wildomar resident - when blog posts on the Patch are updated with new materials, they automatically move to the top of the list to alert readers that new or follow-up information has been added to the blog. ___________________________________________________________ As to the City's communications and notifications, our elected officials have made commitments to certain standards or systems which they have put in place at the taxpayers' considerable expense, and they have recommitted to those systems repeatedly in public announcements and e-mail correspondence. That they now are selectively failing to keep their promises or meet the standards which they, themselves, have put in place is cause for concern and perhaps alarm. The blog bumps because the author cannot type and finds little "edits" or "updates" to make, each time you edit your blog, it bumps to the top. LER and his multiple personality alias of Martha and Roberta are famous blog bumpers....one of the things the editors watch for in other Patch's that has gone unchecked on this one....Hopefully you will see this and have your answer before Martha deletes it......
Martha L. Bridges January 31, 2014 at 02:13 PM
Note I have not only NOT deleted these comments, but have responded to them in both the comment section and in updates to my blog. Blogs are, after all, supposed to be much like a conversation. ___________________________________________________________ Bumping is standard operating procedure used by many Patch contributors and well within the Terms of Service, and in the case of this current blog, real updates to content or information have been added in the bumping process. So anyone's complaint is just a matter of disagreement with the same rules everyone is required to follow. __________________________________________________________ If you really want to take issue with the Patch's Terms of Service, perhaps it would be more beneficial to get rid of the commenters who use multiple AKAs to bolster their opinions! We see LOTS of them...DB wildomar resident etc.

Roberto that's frunny LOTSA AKA's quit being a Sheila, what a riot.
LAKE ELSINORE RESIDENT February 01, 2014 at 11:08 AM
Hey Martha my suggestion don't waste your time on the Moron Sheep with all the AKA's. I don't read what they write (haven't for almost a year now) because I know it's garbage and gibberish. You will always be around even when the Patch is gone making a positive contribution to the quality of life for many people in Wildomar and the world. I say the world because you care about the environment and are doing what has needed to be done for years making cities accountable to environmental laws and sustaining endangered species as well as our drinking water. Keep up the good works and sooner or later many more intelligent people will follow in your footsteps.
Martha L. Bridges February 01, 2014 at 03:17 PM
LER, after careful consideration, I have decided to take your advice. It truly is senseless to try and reason with these people or probably more accurately a person with multiple AKAs who is simply interested in being argumentative. You are also right that we have more important issues which need attending to...
Roberto February 01, 2014 at 08:49 PM
The Shiela's seem to want to sabotage any local discussion about the community of Wildomar. Why? Answer: It's because they have a vested interest in taxayer dollars.
Roberto February 01, 2014 at 10:39 PM
Excellent point Wildomar Resident. Now you should move on as their is nothing here for you.
Martha L. Bridges February 02, 2014 at 12:51 AM
Right Roberto, there is nothing here from wildomar resident that deserves discussion and further argumentative comments will simply be deleted without response. ____________________________________________________________ As I said before, it truly is senseless to try and reason with these people or probably more accurately a person with multiple AKAs who is simply interested in being combative. We have more important issues which need attending to...

I will never get over the strange behaviour of what is apparent City Hall insiders or their minions trying shush Community Activist. In the day and age of information these anti-citizen groups want everyone to walk in lock step with corruption and back room deals. Smoke and mirrors will never change the fact or discourage the Wildomar Three.
LAKE ELSINORE RESIDENT February 03, 2014 at 08:32 AM
Hey Roberto I got over the stange behavior almost a year ago and stopped reading the b.s. written by the LotsaAKA Moron Sheep of Wildomar.
Bd February 03, 2014 at 10:02 AM
Good for you LER...Good luck getting over the rest of your strange behaviors.
