Wildomar Parks - A Sad Legacy

The future of Wildomar parks is in jeopardy. If they close, this will be a sad chapter in Wildomar history. Scripted by a few, the impact will be felt by all.

Most communities pretty much take their parks for granted. We can't do that here.

The City of Wildomar has begun to take bids on dismantling the equipment at our local parks. All of the hard work and expense that has thus far gone into them will be wasted.

Sadly, many citizens believe the hype that Steve Beutz and Martha Bridges have been spewing around town, as well as the "no mello-roos" signs that have been placed to deceive residents into believing they will be paying new taxes for parks.

The fees are the same as they were before. They are not new taxes, nor are they going to automatically increase yearly, as opponents are trying to make everyone believe.

The costs could actually go down if all of the funds aren't needed.

It appears that the children of Wildomar won't have a place to play, that the summer movies will go by the wayside, and that the citizens who live around the parks are in for a series of disappointing events.

When the parks become fire hazards, when they become dark and the buildings are vandalized, when the landscaping dies and they are an eyesore, address your complaints to the people who are campaigning and filing suits to keep them closed: Bridges and Beutz.

The Wildomar City Council has done everything it can to keep our parks open.  The source of funding has been shut off and unless an overwhelming majority of Wildomar citizens vote YES on the parks assessment, the parks will be shuttered.

This is the legacy that will be left by the "sour grapes bunch" and we will all be stuck with it.
