Lake Elsinore Cleaning Up Its Image, 30 Tons At A Time

"We are going to continue to reach out in the neighborhoods and help people," Lake Elsinore Mayor Bob Magee said.

So just how much trash was picked up by volunteers during the June 15 Clean Extreme event in Lake Elsinore?

According to City Councilman Daryl Hickman, about 30 tons.

Hickman was one of more than 100 people who turned out for the event that tackled beautification in the neighborhood known as the Third Street Annexation. It includes residences in the general area of Third Street, SR 74 and Dexter Avenue.

Hickman gave the trash count during Tuesday night’s regularly scheduled city council meeting.

Mayor Bob Magee tagged on to Hickman’s comments. The mayor was also among the volunteers on June 15. He said the beautification made a difference to people living in the neighborhood recently annexed by the city.
