Disaster Preparedness Fair Set for Saturday at The Diamond

The City of Lake Elsinore and its volunteer Citizen Corps are hosting the fourth annual Shake Out Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.

The City of Lake Elsinore and its Citizen Corps have a plan in place should a major earthquake strike locally, and the community is urged to get in on it.

In an ongoing effort to raise public awareness of the critical importance for individuals, families and communities to plan and prepare for the occurrence of such a catastrophic disaster, the city and its volunteers are hosting the fourth annual Shake Out Expo on Saturday at The Diamond.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at the stadium at 500 Diamond Drive in Lake Elsinore, according to the city website.

The Shake Out Expo is described as an "admission free, fun, festival-like public event designed to communicate through live presentations, hands on interactive demonstrations and exhibitions an essential knowledge for personal emergency disaster planning and preparedness."

The event falls just two days after millions of people throughout the state and nation will have taken part in the Oct. 17 Great ShakeOut earthquake drill.
