Ringing In Wildomar's Anniversary and then grabbing a Bite

This evening we headed over to Wildomar Elementary School to listen to the history of the Wildomar Bell and watch the children take turns ringing the bell to celebrate Wildomar’s 5th Anniversary as a City. There were plenty of children on hand to ring the bell, some of them in their 30’s, 40’s and higher.

After the celebration we decided to take ourselves out to dinner, the problem became where to go. I’d like to say we knew where we were going all along, but in reality we didn’t have a clue.

We decided to try out the new Mexican grill we had seen over by Barons Market. We knew which center it was in and thought the name had something to do with a pepper so we headed that way and found Pablano’s Mexican Grill.

The place is small and cute. On first walking in we noticed that we were the only customers. For a new place this didn’t mean we wouldn’t like the food, but it did make us cautious.

The menu is very similar to Chipotles, but along with the tacos, burritos and bowls they also serve fresh, handmade enchiladas. The place smelled very good and appeared to be clean so we decided to give it a try. The girl at the counter was very cheerful and happily took our order.

We decided we would see if this new addition to Wildomar was a place we could add to our selection of restaurants or…not.

When I ordered the enchiladas she told me it would take about 8-10 minutes because they make them fresh (10 minutes for fresh enchilada’s, I’ll go for that). We also ordered a fish taco, a shrimp taco and a pork tamale. We placed the order and sat down to wait with, a bag of chips and salsa.

When the food came we knew we had made the right choice. The flavors were great on all of the items. The seasoning on the beef and the chicken in the enchiladas was excellent. We were both impressed.

I’d like to say we had no doubts about the place from the beginning, but that would be wrong. I can say I’m glad we took the time to give them a try. And there’s no doubt we’ll be back soon. This is another great spot for Wildomar.

Just an FYI – The HVAC was having a hard time keeping the front area cool. If that’s the case in the future, we may get ours to go, but it won’t stop me from going back.
