One of the greatest Disney Level attractions a person could offer someone from 50, 100 or more yearsRead More ago would be a chance to time travel to the futuristic world of 2014 —to see how odd and shallow the human race had become. Though I'm sure they would all be fascinated, and repulsed, at how things had evolved, they'd also beg to get off that ride and go back to their own time... and be thankful that they'd never live long enough to be part of it.

Sorry, but who cares? I'm going to start my own self righteous, contentious, pat your own back,Read More circleJ award show and pretend it's something actually important.......then (get this) I'll charge networks to air it and they can charge high rates for advertisements. Also, (get this) my friends and I will all hump each others legs for hours while people act like know who we really are. BTW, most of us will bill hardcore talentless progressives that make Millions a year yet pretend to understand what it's like to have an actual career. SA - using that logic then St. Patrick's Day should stay in Ireland, Valentine's Day should stay inRead More Italy, St. Nicholas should stay in 4th century Lycia (part of Asia), and Christmas should stay in the Middle East, Rome (Italy), or England, depending on which aspect of the holiday you wish to focus on. Aren't we all much richer as human beings by acknowledging, experiencing and enjoying the cultural celebrations of our neighbors?

They need to be careful with the consumption of alcohol by patrons or at least have excellentRead More security. My daughter worked one year, prior to these organizers however, and was groped and nearly hit too by someone intoxicated. Others went through the same thing. I think they stopped the alcohol after that. I think if they are allowing children in as well then there should be no alcohol.

Mike, Here's to hoping you did not waste your time at Oktoberbust... I mean Oktoberfest... I canRead More honestly say my expectations were not all that high but I am simply amazed and the lack of content at the event. Bad advertising, poor vendor turn out, and a totally lame venue all made this one of the worst events I have ever attended. Many Thanks to the few vendors who did attend and the hard work a few individuals put forth but overall the event SUCKED!! My kids are very easily entertained and the "Fun Zone" was non-existent there really was not much if anything going on here. If your goal was to just sit around and get drunk this is a good event. If you want more than drunken fun and people watching this event is just not for you. WOW two bears, two bored kids (and sad) all for $20.00... We didn’t even bother to try the food. EPIC failure here.

If anywhere else has a bigger problem with meth than Lake Elsinore, it's just because Lake ElsinoreRead More police have given up trying to control it. They only bust meth gangs when they are stealing air conditioner units wholesale to scrap for meth (http://lakeelsinore-wildomar.patch.com/groups/police-and-fire/p/more-details-emerge-on-band-of-alleged-air-conditione0e43f81155v). Or when they kill someone over meth (http://lakeelsinore-wildomar.patch.com/groups/police-and-fire/p/wildomar-teen-gets-9-months-jail-time-in-connection-with-murrieta-murder-case), when a bunch of meth-heads park their car in a restricted lakeshore area to do meth (http://lakeelsinore-wildomar.patch.com/groups/police-and-fire/p/alleged-meth-activity-near-lake-elsinores-four-corners-nets-5-arrests). Just making, selling or using meth is just not a priority of local law enforcement here. Maybe in Oregon it is. If Oregon had the kind of meth epidemic we have here, the governor would want to declare marshal law and call out the national guard.

So, what these people are really saying is, "Help, I don't know how to parent. I don't know howRead More to turn the TV off. Please help me by censoring what EVERYONE else might watch because I'm basically helpless." Hip Hop has been doing this for a long time now so where's the outrage? Hypocrites to the last.
Martha L. Bridges August 28, 2013 at 05:39 am
I agreed with Joseph Morabito. You can't legistate morality and even if you could, we would neverRead More be able to settle on what type or brand of morality to support. However, I am in favor of passing a bill that would allow people to select and pay for only the broadcasts they are interested in watching. Why should we all have to pay for a pre-bundled package of programs, half of which we would never watch? It's high time to give consumers the right to select and pay for only what we want.

I hate this idea. Are they going to slowly torture the bulls to death after like they do in Spain,Read More too?
Ken Mayes August 8, 2013 at 12:13 pm
Rather than a running of the bulls why not an annual swim across the lake. This event would tortureRead More not only city officials because people would be using the LAKE but would also torture those that choose to swim. They could use the bulls for a big old BBQ afterwards.
