I like how our judicial system rules (and other major laws and policies) are decided by voters whoRead More couldn't find Iraq on a globe, can't balance their checkbooks, believe the world is 10,000 years old, and think 48÷2(9+3) = 2.
KMA June 29, 2014 at 01:27 pm
The laws are not decided by votes, unless it is an initiative, and then like Prop 8- it will beRead More overturned by a bunch of liberals .The Congress or Legislature writes and votes on the laws- the people vote these guys in, but not the measures themselves. This is a Republic, not a democracy. So before being critical of others, look in the mirror.

I like with Marcus. We recently drove up to Oregon to look at some colleges and visit friends. WeRead More actually saw a Sign along the I 5 that said welcome to the state of Jefferson. Wimpy though the sign was it smacked of people voted against their own best interests.

this boy will do nothing . look at the republican party, when they were in what jobs did they bringRead More in and stayed ? that party shut down many state hospitals, so now we have sick folks running around, and what have they done for the VETS that come back from war ? then who the hell is this boy ? no one in the BAY AREA and up the coast do not know of this boy . Oh well Jerry will do 4 more years and retire if he does not die before then .
c5 June 10, 2014 at 06:59 pm
Kashkari will get smoked, it doesn't matter what he says or does. I will not vote for Brown but heRead More will win going away. Brown's legacy will end up being not enough water storage, a high speed rail system that goes nowhere and leaves a huge hole in the budget, the highest taxes and least friendly place to do business in the country, and a bankrupt fiscal situation with massive unfunded state employee benefits and pensions.
Ken Briggs June 11, 2014 at 03:58 am

There are persons living in Murrieta working for police or fire departments in cities from Hemet toRead More Escondido that are driving city or county owned vehicles to and from home. In some or all cases they are authorized to do so where they may have to respond to emergency call while they re off duty at home. This is OK with me, I am just commenting.
Friendly Fred May 22, 2014 at 02:28 am
There was considerable discussion in Murrieta a few years back about the extent to which theRead More political signs should be allowed on public land alongside streets and roads. And a revised ordnance was passed. Maybe I will comment more later, past my bed time now. There is a free speech involvement with this issue and often courts have struck down restrictions. HOWEVER there is a right to take the ones displayed on public property down and impound them by the city a short time after the election, and maybe impose charges or fines for not taking them down. But this can be unreasonable because anyone is likely to be able to cause harm to a politician they do not like by getting his/her signs and sticking them up after the election.
Steve Mehlman May 22, 2014 at 11:03 am
Police and firefighters are heroes when they risk their lives to protect you. But when they fightRead More for their rights, they are just "union thugs" to you. That police officers and firefighters support Mr. Hestrin is a plus for him, not a negative.

Being a victim of substandard care, mis -diagnosis of cancer, inappropriate touching of breasts andRead More worse, with recent name calling from a Dr whom could not control his thinking, with the worst attitude I've ever seen (I calmly walked out). I am a strong supporter of drug & alcohol testing for anyone who must make decisions and perform duties that can endanger the lives of humans or animals. The VCA treats my dog better than some of these so called medical professionals, they look stoned, and not acting in a professional manner. The HMO capitation system also needs to be revised as it endangers the lives of people. Corners are cut, allotted patient time (10 mins) varies. There seems to be a staggering (no pun intended) number of Physicians who have received their training and certification from other countries, which may have something to do with the increase in substandard care, as well as people being intoxicated. Would you want your pilot drunk? How about your dentist stoned off his ass and drilling your head? nice. people need to be accountable, tighten up and control your thinking.

While I understand the point of malpractice suits, there are way too many that are frivolous. PeopleRead More suing just to earn a buck. My fiancé just graduated med school and a few times we've come across people needing medical attention, but he's too scared to help because he doesn't want to be sued despite not being on the clock. Too many good doctors are being sued for bullshit excuses. Do NOT raise the monetary awards. It opens a whole new can of money seeking jackass worms.
Nicky Donnell June 2, 2014 at 08:23 am
To further this idea... I know of a doctor who had a patient... she was overweight and I don'tRead More recall what type of doctor he was or what the patient was there for, but she claimed that after some form of surgery that the staff left her in the parking lot to fend for herself despite being incapacitated from anesthesia. She claimed to have fallen out of her wheel chair with the foot of it going up her vagina. She claimed to have needed reconstructive surgery and it turned her into a lesbian and she no longer had an eye or want for men... So she sued the doctor, all staff whether they were working there or not. Cameras proved that her story was false and when the doctors attorneys met with hers to 'settle' they refused to pay out anything she and her attorney asked for due to her obvious fake story. The defense attorneys statement, "Come on! We just want a little bit of money!" Needless to say that doctor is countersuing and that lady got nothing! Lol.

KMA - Banning PD is without a permanent chief and the ranking officer, Lt. Phil Holder, indicatedRead More that he was not interested in the temporary position of acting chief. And just why do you suppose that is? Is it because his past dishonesty at his former department got him placed on the Brady list? Some police departments may clean out real problem officers but, more often than not, they let them resign and "pass the trash." Banning's former chief, Leonard Purvis, on more than one occasion blamed department problems on "second chance officers" while at the same time hiring problem reserve officers from nearby departments like Palm Springs.

Even as this story continues to develop as reported in this morning's Press Enterprise, this is whatRead More the Banning Informer has to say: Anyone who tries to steer convicted felons into Banning's finest downtown development, cannot possibly have sound judgment. Now Welch's and Franklin's endorsement of crook Zellerbach confirms - yet again - their incompetence as political leaders ! County Supervisor's Jumping on the Band Wagon... Let the record reflect that I was the firstRead More civilian to endorse Mike Hestrin Publicly in Riverside County...I am Kind of proud of that! A few weeks later Zellerbach showed his appreciation and I was charged with multiple felonies he created literally out of thin air. It took a few months for my case to wind it's way through the court system. In the end, THREE separate judges ruled "NO CRIME WAS COMMITTED! ALL charges have been dismissed. I as Chairman of The Riverside County Leadership Forum, Zellerbach must have felt that my support for Mike Hestrin, his opponent might perhaps be the beginning of his undoing. When I sent out a memo to campaign donors that I was going to be supporting Mike Hestrin and that I suggested they wait to start writing checks to Zellerbach's campaign until they were able to meet Mike and get a better understanding of him, that they might also decide he was the better of the two candidates. A few days after that email went out, Zellerbach was forced to cancel a fundraiser due to lack of interest. Less than a week later, I received a letter from the DA telling me to turn myself in to the court and answer to Felony Death Threats and Stalking charges, ALL of my firearms have been confiscated by Zellerbachs orders and I am still to this day left defenseless in my very own home because of Paul Zellerbachs abuse of his authority.
