Regina Sykes-Quiroz April 10, 2014 at 12:02 pm
I heard she had taken off her seat belt to help / feed her baby in the back. Very sad prayers to theRead More family

Marty R McVeigh changed his name today. He was previously always known as Alek J Hiddell.
Steve February 26, 2014 at 12:46 pm
Do you play anywhere around here?
BLUESGUITAR777 February 26, 2014 at 12:53 pm
@Steve Last gig I had was a festival in Los Alamitos last October. I don't play with bands veryRead More often anymore.

So sad for this man and his family for their loss, how tragic that life can drive someone to takeRead More their own life. Prayers and condolences.

As a baseball fan, I knew of Kiner's feats. He lead the league in HRs seven years in a row. I thinkRead More I heard a few broadcasts of his when I was in my early teens... I think it was him that was doing the NLCS when it was the Dodgers and Phillies (I recorded it on tape... I bet that thing doesn't work anymore). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Still, as nice as it is to see this story... it's been on the front page of the Patch for two days now and it isn't even a local story. Safe to say that whatever reach Patch had as a local news source has seen better days... and that's no slight at Renee Schiavone. I imagine she's just playing the cards that were dealt to her.
Jeff Kleiner February 7, 2014 at 10:51 am
Ralph Kiner was also a great broadcaster. I enjoyed his voice many times. Any athlete leading theRead More league in Home runs for seven years is very impressive and dominate......Ralph will be missed all over baseball.

Condolences to the family and all, but I have to ask... what is an 85 year old doing in a positionRead More to be hit by a car in the first place? Good for her that she remained that mobile at such an advanced age, I guess.
Rena Howe February 5, 2014 at 11:27 am
Oh no, I think that was my neighbor.
Rena Howe February 5, 2014 at 12:22 pm
Joseph that sweet lady walked every day with her cane. She was a tiny little thing, but got aroundRead More on her own. I remember seeing her last a couple of weeks ago, going by my home, like she always did. People race around this neighborhood like idiots, forgetting there are tons of kids and other people walking around all the time.

Hopefully a wake up call to you other Dads with your dangerous, silly hobbies, expensive enough toRead More leave your families with nothing else...
Jimmy Dean January 26, 2014 at 08:13 am
Alek, what good comes from you? You are filled with such evil.

Marine Corps pilot Jerry Coleman.
Joe Meyers January 7, 2014 at 07:40 am
For us long suffering Padres fans, Jerry was always a beacon of light that took us through the manyRead More lows and the less frequent highs. No disrespect to Tony Gwynn but Jerry will always be Mr. Padre.
Doug Curlee January 8, 2014 at 02:22 pm
in addition to being what everyone says he was.. and more..jerry coleman was without question one ofRead More the nicest people ever to walk this planet..i know most conservatives can't stand keith olbermann, but go online and watch the obituary he did on jerry..it's amazing..doug

I missed this news when it first happened. How sad. I've always enjoyed Jerry Coleman's work.

In 1997 I had the pleasure of meeting Nelson and he was outstanding… The fact that ourRead More President made Nelson’s passing all about him makes me sick … If Nelson was white, our president would be celebrating… Oh and Nelson living to 95 is amazing …

Why is this headline news in the local Patch? I doubt this class B actor ever visted our area...
Domenic C December 1, 2013 at 07:22 am

One good cop should of been able to spot this fresh grave 45 feet from the house. Why would thisRead More take so long to solve?
Jen Young Barlow July 12, 2013 at 01:49 pm
How on EARTH did the police, volunteers, search dogs, not find a body 40 feet from the house? thatRead More seems odd to me right. how did search dogs and people not walk past it or look in the backyard? Do they not start the perimeter search at the property? And all reports say the body wasn't fully covered up and shallow, common! that is unreal how they didn't search the own backyard!!! :( pathetic I think right?
Marjorie Marrale July 12, 2013 at 02:29 pm
22 agencies including the FBI, lots of volunteers, this is crazy, don't the cops usually start withRead More a good look at the family? Even if the cops weren't allowed on property w/o search warrant, (red flag), the local cops should of been sharper. No wonder the state's broke. People are most often killed by people they know.

I told you before. I wasn't at the court hearing, that was my Husbands sister you're thinking of,Read More ergo, that would make her my sister in law. I chose not to attend the hearing and for good reason, nor do I choose to attend any of the others there after. I hope for my nieces sake, this doesn't get dragged out, they don't need it. The shock from their mothers death has finally worn off, and now they're just missing her. So for their sake, I want this to be over. That doesn't change the way that I feel towards the situation.
Maryam Amatullah September 25, 2013 at 12:23 pm
2 Months after she passed I want to update directed mostly for the man who killed her. He left 3Read More orphans risking to be put on foster care, 3 girls without a mother with deep sadness in a situation that no one could have imagine for them. Lucy was a very positive person, looking always at the good side of things, what good could she possible find out of this now, she was an excellent mother, a good friend, and excellent human being, who left this world in the hands of a drunk. We still mourning and her kids' life was changed for ever and for the worst. As per the "Reverend" Smith and his racist dirty comments all I can say is that he should be in jail, just like the murderer...
