Wildomar Cemetery Ready For Memorial Day Service Thanks To Scouts, Volunteers

The annual Wildomar Memorial Day Service led by the city's Faith Baptist Church gets underway May 27 at 10 a.m., and the venue is spit-shine clean thanks to a community clean-up.

Volunteers and local scouts from Pack 332, Troop 332, Troop 2011, Crew 604, and GSSGC Girl Scouts turned out May 18 to clean headstones at Wildomar Cemetery, the site of the annual Memorial Day Service.

According to Heidi Salerno of Wildomar Pack 332, last Saturday's clean-up was part of a yearly community service project.

After all the headstones were cleaned, the scouts were treated to popsicles and some great stories from Wildomar City Councilman Bob Cashman about the cemetery's fascinating history, the proud pack mom said.

Editor's note: The 10 a.m. May 27 Memorial Day Service at the cemetery is no charge and is open to the public.
