DC-10 Makes Impression On Falls Fire, Local Residents

This gallery of just four photos shows the dramatic action of the DC-10 above Lake Elsinore.

A modified DC-10 flying over Lake Elsinore and nearby communities was a sight to see Monday.

The aircraft was called in Monday off a fire in San Bernardino to help battle the Falls Fire burning in the Cleveland National Forest, west of Lake Elsinore, according to U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman Vickie Wright.

Flying extremely low over residential neighborhoods, the aircraft made several drops of fly retardant.
