Several Vehicles Involved in I-15 Accident in Lake Elsinore

A crash involving several vehicles happened in Lake Elsinore Sunday and left one person trapped with major injuries, a fire spokeswoman said.

Firefighters were dispatched at 4:13 p.m. to southbound Interstate 15 across from Nichols Road where the multiple-vehicle crash was sighted. One person was cut from the wreckage and flown to a hospital for treatment of major injuries, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

A second person involved in the wreck suffered only moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital, Hendrickson said.
