High winds will be possible throughout the Inland Empire late Saturday through Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service advised Friday.
The Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for the valleys of Riverside and San Bernardino counties, as well as the San Bernardino and Santa Ana mountain passes and canyons.
Sustained winds out of the northeast of 20 to 35 mph are expected, with peak gusts up to 60 and 70 mph possible through the canyons and below the foothills of the Santa Ana Mountains, which run between Riverside and Orange counties.
Roads and freeways that could be vulnerable include Interstates 10 and 210, and Highways 91, 71 and 60, according to the Weather Service.
In Lake Elsinore, daytime highs in the mid-70s are expected Saturday and Sunday.
