Loud Booms, Thunder, Explosions Coming From Camp Pendleton

Depending on atmospheric conditions, the noise may be heard up to 50 miles away, base officials said.

Camp Pendleton troops are training on base this week with live mortar fire, and the noise is carrying across the Temecula, Murrieta and Lake Elsinore Valleys.
