Search For Alleged Auto Thief Leads To Heavy Police Activity In Wildomar, Lakeland Village

Some streets were blocked and a police dog was being used in the area off Grand Avenue, according to Patch readers.

The search for a suspect who allegedly stole a vehicle has resulted in heavy police activity Thursday morning in Wildomar and Lakeland Village.

Some streets were blocked and a police dog was being used in the area off Grand Avenue, according to Patch readers.

Deputy Albert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirmed a deputy was flagged down at 7:08 a.m. on Kathryn Way in Lakeland Village by a female victim. Her vehicle was allegedly stolen, so a search for the suspect began.

Martinez said door-to-door searches did take place.

The investigation is ongoing and no suspect is in custody, he added.

Martinez explained that a sheriff's sergeant in the field relayed the public is not in any danger.
