Camp Pendleton artillery units are conducting live-fire training exercises Feb. 6-12 and, depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away, according to base officials.
The following is the schedule for the training exercises:
Monday, Feb 6
-Mortar Live Fire= 6 a.m. through midnight
- Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact areas.
-Artillery Live Fire=6 a.m. through midnight
- Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact areas.
Tuesday, Feb 7
-Mortar Live Fire=6 a.m. through midnight
- Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact areas.
-Artillery Live Fire=6 a.m. through midnight
- Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact areas.
Wednesday, Feb 8
-Mortar Live Fire=7 a.m. through 6 p.m.
- Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact areas.
-Artillery Live Fire=6 a.m. through midnight
- Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact areas.
Thursday, Feb 9
-Mortar Live Fire=8:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m.
- Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact areas.
-Artillery Live Fire=6 a.m. through midnight
- Firing High Explosive munitions into the Whiskey/Zulu impact areas.
Friday, Feb 10
-Artillery Live Fire=12:01 a.m. through midnight (Begin 24 hour firing until 1200 on 12 Feb)
