Poor Air Quality In Lake Elsinore

Local air quality continues to be unhealthy, the South Coast Air Quality Management District is advising.

Following recent fire activity across Southwest Riverside County, the agency has issued warnings about poor air quality in Lake Elsinore.

On Sunday, air quality in Lake Elsinore is forecast to be “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.”

“When air quality is in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups range, members of sensitive groups may experience health effects, but the general public is unlikely to be affected,” according to a statement from the agency. “People with heart or lung disease, children, older adults, and people who are active outdoors may be considered sensitive and therefore at greater risk. People in the sensitive groups should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.”

Conversely, in the Temecula Valley the SCAQMD forecasts a “Good” air quality rating for Sunday.
