Deputies allegedly found over 200 items of stolen property, including electronic equipment, iPads, a shotgun, jewelry, power tools, designer purses and items related to identity theft such as driver's licenses,

Two men were collared by Lake Elsinore sheriff’s deputies early Friday inside the Glen Ivy RV Park for alleged burglary, and it turns out one was out on bail and the other was on felony probation, an official is reporting.

John Varian, 42, of Lake Elsinore, and David Sare, 37, of Corona were booked on suspicion of burglary and other crimes following a vehicle stop inside the RV park located in unincorporated Temescal Valley, according to Sgt. Steve Brosche.

The incident began around 3 a.m. , when deputies from the Lake Elsinore station conducted a vehicle stop inside the RV park, Brosche reported.

The driver, later identified as Varian, had an outstanding felony warrant and was on felony probation, the sergeant said.

“During a search of his vehicle, a stolen laptop computer was located. Deputies determined Varian resides in the RV park and a search warrant was obtained …,” Brosche wrote in his report.

While deputies were searching the RV Varian lives in, Sare “was found hiding in the residence,” Brosche said.

“Deputies located methamphetamine, over 200 items of stolen property, including electronic equipment, iPads, a shotgun, jewelry, power tools, designer purses and items related to identity theft such as driver's licenses,” the sergeant said.

Varian was booked for possession of stolen property and burglary; Sare was booked for possession of stolen property, burglary, committing a felony while out on bail and possession of a controlled substance, Brosche said.

Deputies are continuing to conduct follow-up investigations to identify victims and return the property to its rightful owners.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department asks if anyone has additional information regarding this incident they can contact Deputy Ricard at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff Station (951) 245-3300 or Central Dispatch at 951-776-1099.
