Another Quake Strikes Region

The epicenter of the 12:55 p.m. temblor was eight miles southwest of Idyllwild and eight miles northwest of Anza, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A magnitude-3.0 earthquake was recorded today in the San Jacinto Mountains area, about eight miles from Idyllwild.

There were no reports of damages or injuries as a result of the quake, which occurred along the San Jacinto Fault Zone.

The quake is the latest in a series over the last week, including a magnitude 3.7 temblor that shook Southwest Riverside Saturday morning.

The epicenter of that quake was in the San Jacinto mountains about 9 miles east of Hemet and 7 miles west of Idyllwild, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was felt as a strong jolt 20 miles east in Palm Springs. Residents from throughout Southwest Riverside reported feeling it to USGS.
