TGIF, Patchers. If you need ideas for your weekend, we’ve got them. This time around, we suggest book shopping, an amazing garden tour and lots of ways to get involved in our community.

Our goal is to make the Get Out planner as reliable as possible, but keep in mind, some events change at the last minute. We advise calling ahead just in case.

Why Go: Fill an entire bag with children’s books for the price of a latte. Proceeds benefit the library and its great programs.

When/Where: 5 p.m.-11 p.m. this Friday at the

Why Go: hosts this fun night of glow golfing, dining and dancing. Enjoy a buffet dinner, a moonlight golf tournament with contests for "Closest to the Pin" and "Longest Drive," and then a post-golf dance party with a DJ.

Why Go: If you have been meaning to donate items to the Goodwill lately, Saturday is a great time to do so. Proceeds will help the Elsinore High School football team get championship rings for their first CIF section title.

Why Go: This special tour not only features a great look at some beautiful gardens, there will also be live music, art, organic gardening seminars at certain locales, an opportunity to have “Lunch in the Garden” provided by and opportunity drawing for fun prizes like a helicopter ride over the reserve. Proceeds will benefit the organization’s educational programs.

Caitlin, Thank you for all your good ideas this weekend. I had forgotten about the garden tour ;( and I have some things to donate to the goodwill drive. I was just about to post about the bike safety event. :):):)
