Flash Flood Watch, Wind Advisory In Effect Sunday

The National Weather Service is warning that Sunday’s cold Pacific storm will bring a chill across the Inland Empire, along with wintry wind, heavy rain and possible flash flooding.

A wind advisory is in effect starting at noon Sunday through 4 a.m. Monday for Riverside and San Diego counties.

According to the NWS, the strongest winds are expected to begin Sunday afternoon with gusts of 20 to 30 mph and then strengthening to 50 mph by evening.

Winds will make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.

A flash flood watch has also been issued for Sunday across the Inland Empire, as well as parts of Orange and San Bernardino counties.

The cold Pacific front is expected to bring periods of heavy rainfall starting Sunday afternoon and lasting through the night.

During the storm, Southwest Riverside can expect daytime temperatures to peak at 60 degrees, with nighttime temperatures dipping down to the high 30s.
