Storm Brings Snow, Flooding

Residents can see powder in the local foothills surrounding Wildomar, Lakeland Village and Lake Elsinore.

More snow, flooding, cold temperatures and rain are in store Sunday.

Residents can see powder in the local foothills surrounding Wildomar, Lakeland Village and Lake Elsinore. The Ortega Highway has been whitened, but the road remains open and chains are not required.

According to the National Weather Service, the snow level is at 2,000 feet and a winter advisory is in effect for areas above 2,500 feet.

The cold, wet weather will continue through today, with strong gusty winds expected later this afternoon. The storm is expected to clear late, and forecasters are predicting partly cloudy skies Monday.

The high today will top 56 degrees, with tonight’s low expected to fall to 37 degrees in Lake Elsinore, according to the National Weather Service.

Some streets are flooded through Wildomar, Lake Elsinore and Lakeland Village. “Flood” signs are being posted by city workers. Wildomar has signs posted on Corydon, Central and Palomar, to name a few. Drivers are urged to use caution.
