A MOST PLEASANT SURPRISE

Tonight’s Planning Commission meeting was a most pleasant departure from previous meetings during which one is allowed to give a 3 minute dissertation.
There was a workshop held during the meeting to discuss the start to updating the General Plan for Wildomar during which back and forth discussion was allowed and even encouraged.
Hopefully this type of meeting will carry over to future planning and cities council meetings and not just occur for special occassions.
The biggest question to come out of the meeting is what is Wildomar. Is it rural, semi-rural, urban and what should it strive for. The answers varied so much it makes it hard to plan for the future.
Attendance was extremely light and hopefully the next meeting scheduled for February 5, 2014 will attract many more individuals with ideas.
An assignment came out of this meeting, for all of the citizens of Wildomar, take pictures of what you like and dislike in an about Wildomar. What would you like see more of and less of. The pictures do not have to be taken in Wildomar, if you like a certain type of shopping center (big, small individual stores, stores cluster in one building, etc), housing development (open, fenced in, straight roads, winding roads, etc) trails (roadside, separate, etc), parks (pocket, small, big, types of amenities, etc), restaurants (chain, fast food, independent, etc) and on an on.
Take pictures of your favorite places that you would like to see in Wildomar, dream big as now is the time.
Send pictures to Matthew Bassi, Planning Director, at  mbassi@cityofwildomar.org with a brief description of why you feel it would benefit Wildomar.
