Wildomar and Conditional Use Permits

Wildomar and Conditional Use Permits

Many say the economy is getting better, but this past week 3 visiting Oak Meadows Ranch have mentioned they were laid off their jobs this past week and currently unable to find a job.

Riverside County since 2007 has been hit hard by the economy. Many that live in Riverside County live in rural areas and a home-based business is a great opportunity for those that are unable to find jobs and can earn an income at their home. The city of Menifee has made home-based businesses in rural areas a little easier since incorporation. For those that are in need of a Conditional Use Permit the city has reduced the cost of these permits from $10,000 to $2,300 and the city offers a discount for some applicants, lowering the price to $1,100. The city policy allows many businesses to run in residential areas if they are granted a Conditional Use Permit lowering the price as low as $1,100 making it more affordable than a $10,000 price tag which makes it difficult for most including large businesses in today’s economy.

Reducing the Conditional Use Permit to no higher than $1,000 that live in the rural part of Wildomar and to those that would like to have a home-based business such as boarding horses and what is related to horses, of course not exceeding the number of horses allowed per acre would benefit not only those that want the home-based business, the City of Wildomar being able to receive permit fees and horses. Currently those that would like to offer horse boarding at their home a $10,000 Conditional Use Permit is required which when feeding one horse is $100 to $150 per month and the time spent feeding, mucking and watering a horse each day and receiving the average horse boarding fee of $250 per month per horse doesn’t justify boarding horses. Those that have properties that are capable to have horses being able to board horses on their property would benefit many and save the lives of many horses.
