Woman Ejected in Lake Elsinore Crash Identified

The accident was reported at 12:40 p.m. Sunday on the northbound Corona Freeway north of Main Street.

The Riverside County coroner has identified the passenger in a 2014 Honda CRV who was ejected from the vehicle when it went from left to right lanes across the northbound Corona (15) Freeway, struck another car and overturned into a dirt field.

The accident was reported at 12:40 p.m. Sunday on the northbound Corona Freeway north of Main Street, according to California Highway Patrol Officer D. Lee.

The 28-year-old driver of the Honda CRV was in the far left lane moving at 85 mph when he allowed the vehicle to cross all lanes to the right, where it collided with the rear of a 2006 Chrysler 300 driven by a 68-year-old woman, Lee said.

The CRV continued onto the dirt shoulder and overturned several times before coming to rest east of Camino Del Norte in a dirt field, the officer said.

Nidhi Burman, 27, of Temecula was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the CRV, Lee said. She died from her injuries at the scene.
