Wanted! Prom Dresses and Dressy Shoes for Operation Prom Girl 2014

New resident, Dawn Carrasco, with the generosity and support of other residents and the surrounding community, has created the Willing Hearts Grassroots Ministry, and collected over 65 prom dresses and some dressy shoes for local high school girls who otherwise would not get to attend their senior prom. "This will be a bigger event than imagined-I was going to give a few underprivileged girls makeovers and prom gowns at my house, along with a lesson about beauty from the inside out, and loving who God created us to be and overcoming our challenges".

The goal is to collect 150 dresses and pairs of dressy shoes in all sizes. Running solely on faith and community efforts, we will have a nice event for the young ladies on the day they pick out their dresses. Since all of the girls are different shapes and sizes, we will need to have enough to choose from so each girl has a proper fitting gown. Do not hesitate with larger sizes; we will need several more of large and plus sizes to balance the sizes. A large dress can always be altered to fit, and we have been blessed more with smaller sizes as of now.

Local high schools have been called on to help select the girls who will be invited to the event, which will take place in late March or early April, date and venue is still being sought. A silent auction or some type of fund raiser will be held to support all of the needs of the event.

There are prom dress/shoe drop offs in Wildomar and Canyon Hills. For more information, or to volunteer in any way,  please email sanctifyeden@yahoo.com or visit the brand new Willing Hearts or the Sanctify Eden pages on Facebook, where you can follow the event, view photos and get updated info including drop off addresses. I believe we can, as a community pull together and make this magical-perhaps change some lives. All that is required is a willing heart! Thank you so much in advance!
