Alcohol Appears To Have Been A Factor In Wildomar Crash

Shortly after midnight, Hernan Menchaca, 19, crashed the vehicle he was driving at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Wesley Street.

A Murrieta driver who was traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed in Wildomar early Sunday morning, may have been driving under the influence, according to police.

Shortly after midnight, Hernan Menchaca, 19, crashed the vehicle he was driving at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Wesley Street.

According to a Wildomar Police Department report, Menchaca lost control of the vehicle while speeding southbound on Grand Avenue. The vehicle flipped over and collided with a utility pole, the report stated.

Menchaca had to be extricated from the vehicle by county fire personnel and was transported to a local hospital.

Alcohol appears to have been a factor, the report stated.
