Boys & Girls Club At Alberhill Ranch Gets Morning Scare

A suspicious suitcase was found in the parking lot, prompting approximately 30 students to be relocated to nearby Alberhill Park.

The Boys & Girls Club at Alberhill Ranch in Lake Elsinore was abuzz with police activity Wednesday after a suspicious suitcase was found in the parking lot.

The green hard-sided suitcase was left in the lot sometime around 9 a.m., according to a Lake Elsinore Police Department report.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they were unable to determine the suitcase’s contents and called in the Riverside County Sheriff's Hazardous Device Team to assist, the report stated.

By 12:50 p.m., the team determined the suitcase contained no hazardous materials or devices.

There were approximately 30 students in a nearby building during the incident; they were all safely released to their parents at Alberhill Park, which adjoins the Club.

It is unclear who placed the suitcase in the parking lot and why it was left there.
