Traffic was slow in the area due to the mishap.

“I saw a chain reaction -- the dust and the metals,” said a witness who identified herself only as a 36-year-old Wildomar resident with the first name Laura.

The witness said one of the vehicles was stopped to make a left turn and the driver of the vehicle behind it slammed on the brakes, causing a domino effect of crashes.

“This is a very busy intersection,” Laura said. “I travel this road everyday because I take my kids to school. I’m surprised there are not more accidents like this.”
