Chaos On 15 Freeway In Lake Elsinore Caused By Sheet Metal, Beams

There are no reports of injuries and it's unclear how the debris ended up in the road.

Commotion today on the 15 Freeway at Central Avenue in Lake Elsinore was the result of metal debris in the road.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s online traffic reporting system, a half dozen vehicles traveling on the northbound side of the 15 Freeway sustained flat tires caused by sheet metal and beams in the roadway.

The incident was first reported at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, just south of Central Avenue.

Drivers were swerving to avoid the debris, and several pulled onto the center divide or right shoulder with flat tires, according to the CHP’s reporting system.

As of 2:12 p.m., cars were still stalled on the freeway but were not blocking traffic.
