The man found dead Friday in Lake Elsinore’s Alberhill Ranch Community Park has been identified by the coroner’s office.
Corona resident Craig Lamotte, 31, was found at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
He was found lying face up on the grass near a parking lot by a patrol officer driving through the park, according to an update from the Lake Elsinore Police Department.
"The patrol officer stopped to check on the man and discovered he was deceased," the department stated in a news release.
The park was cordoned off and investigators from the Lake Elsinore Police Department and the coroner’s office took over the investigation.
"The preliminary investigation indicates the man died from natural causes," the news release stated.
The sheriff's Central Homicide Unit was not called to the scene, confirmed Sgt. Lisa McConnell. In cases where investigators have suspicion of foul play, Central Homicide takes over.
An exact cause and time of death has not been released at press time.
