A gunman opened fire during a family get-together in Wildomar and shot a man several times, a sheriff’s sergeant said Sunday.

Sheriff’s deputies received a call at 11:30 p.m. Saturday and went to the 33300 block of Mission Trail, where they found the victim laying on a dirt driveway outside the home, Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Chad Loeffler said.

The victim was described as only a 33-year-old male, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds. He showed stable life signs and was expected to survive, Loeffler said.
