Fatal Crash Jams 15 Freeway In Lake Elsinore

A crash on the southbound I-15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore has resulted in a fatality, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department is reporting.

The solo-vehicle crash occurred just south of Lake Street and was reported at 8:39 a.m. Thursday.

One person was ejected and did not survive, according to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department news release. A second patient was transported to an area hospital with moderate to minor injuries, the release stated.

CHP is reporting there are significant delays on the freeway. At 8:57 a.m., the agency reported the freeway would be closed for “30 minutes or more.”
