In addition to Cal Fire and BLM fire engines, Cal Fire Conservation Camp fire crews will be utilized on the blaze.

According to a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department news release, the prescribed burn will help prevent future wild land fires from spreading into the area. Additionally, the burn will allow officials to better manage non-native weeds on the reserve and promote a healthy ecosystem there.
