Four Arrested During Lake Elsinore DUI Checkpoint Operation

Robert Templeton, 39, of Newport Beach was arrested for driving under the influence. Three other people were arrested for outstanding warrants.

Four people were arrested in Lake Elsinore Saturday night as part of a Lake Elsinore Police Department DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint at the intersection of Collier Avenue and Riverside Drive.

Robert Templeton, 39, of Newport Beach was arrested for driving under the influence. Three other people were arrested for outstanding warrants.

According to a Lake Elsinore Police Department report, 1,358 vehicles were screened and 46 citations were issued during the checkpoint operation; 21 vehicles were impounded or stored.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
