Manhunt Ends: Lakeland Village Stabber Turns Himself In

Jail records show Skyberg was booked for attempted murder and is being held in lieu of a $1 million bond. He is due to appear in court on Friday.

A Wildomar man who was on the run after allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old several times in Lakeland Village has turned himself in to authorities, police are reporting.

Matthew Skyberg, 27, turned himself in to deputies at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station shortly before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Jail records show Skyberg was booked for attempted murder and is being held in lieu of a $1 million bond. He is due to appear in court on Friday.

after he allegedly stabbed the teen in the 33000 block of Garner Road in Lakeland Village. Police were called at 12:41 a.m. Sunday.

“Deputies arrived on scene and located a 19-year-old male who was suffering from several stab wounds to his torso. Cal Fire and AMR ambulance personnel were summoned to the scene to render aid. The victim was transported to the Loma Linda Medical Center in the city of Redlands in critical condition,” according to a news release issued out of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station.

According to investigators, Skyberg had been involved in a verbal altercation.

“During the argument, Skyberg stabbed the victim with an unknown-type of knife and fled the scene,” according to the news release.
