A person who tried to flee the scene of a crash in Lake Elsinore Tuesday afternoon was caught and arrested, sheriff's officials tell Patch.

Sheriff's Spokesman Deputy Armando Munoz says the crash on Corydon Road, south of Mission Trial was reported around 3:15 p.m.

"He tried to run away, but they caught him," Munoz told Patch of the person believed to be responsible for the crash.

Before that person was caught, though, another person was taken to the hospital, he said.  Photos from the scene show an older model blue Honda sedan with major front-end damage.

The identity of the person who was arrested was not immediately available, nor were details surrounding the collision.

Traffic in the area was slowed for a short time when crews cleared the wreckage, but the road was cleared by 4 p.m., according to Munoz.

I want to thank all of the very kind people who stopped and helped us today. Everyone from Best Muffler to Dejong's Dairy and just the people who gave there info to the police as witnesses. I didn't know alot of this happened because I was the one who got to go to the hospital. The girls are ok just a little sore and maybe a broken wrist but, we are alive. Thank you again everyone...

Cathy good to hear your girls are okay and sorry to hear about your possible broken wrist. Lake Elsinore is changing and I like reading the news to see more and more criminals are being arrested in Lake Elsinore.

Daniel you took some really good shots and I thank you for that. My truck is totaled, my kids and myself are hurt, battered and bruised. The bruises are STILL coming out and it is ridiculous. You are right So cal White Boy, the officer on scene told me he had no license or insurance and he was illegal. The other driver told me to my face, the lady who owns the car has insurance but no police. I said, um yeah not happening. Thank God for AAA and full coverage on MY end.
