this was just a horrible accident. My prayers got out to everyone one involved.
Tina Tyra August 17, 2011 at 06:45 PM
They didn't even say it was the driver's fault and I'm sure it's under investigation. Accidents happen, but the important thing is to care for and pray for the young lady who was injured critically. Judge not lest ye be judged, Michael. Some day that may mean something to you.
Tina Tyra August 17, 2011 at 06:47 PM
So many accidents with cars vs. pedestrians, bikes, motorcycles lately. We all need to be careful, but this could happen to anyone. I'm sure this young lady's family needs all the support we can offer. If anyone knows them, please pass on our prayers.

I live in the apartments right behind these photos and it is under developed. So many people fly down this street as if nobody lives on it. My heart goes out to both families.
Sherry Moreno August 17, 2011 at 09:18 PM
My prayers go out to the driver of the car, a very responsible adult that I know personally. Accidents are terrible but they are just that. There is no room for any unkind speculations..please just uplift her in prayer as well as the other young lady that was involved. May the good Lord heal her quickly. Sherry

Sherry Moreno, Prayers go out to the driver? Thank god that you weren't the one crossing the street. Personally I know the victim that was hit. Accidents are just terrible and are just that, except when you speed pass a bus as pedestrians are getting off. Pedestrians as young as 16 who are just trying to go home after school.

@Tina Tyra, Your so correct
Robert Lougee August 18, 2011 at 01:11 PM
Why shouldn't prayers go out to the driver? Why shouldn't prayers go out to the investigators asking that God give them the wisdom to reach the correct conclusion? Mae, with a comment like that, one could assume that you are maybe a little biased and feel the need to withhold God's grace from those that you deem to be undeserving of it. Until I hear otherwise, I will assume all parties involved are great people. I haven't seen anything published that even remotely assigns blame. Even if the driver were speeding, etc., this is still an event that most likely occurred due to a lack of situational awareness on the part of both, or either party. There is nothing that I have learned that says there was any malice of intent on the part of the driver or the pedestrian.

Prayers to both the victim and driver..this accident was horrible. We live right next to the accident and saw the devastation. All involved will be greatly affected by this tragedy. Poor girl that got hit just crossing the street after getting off of bus, but poor victim that will have to live with this forever. Her two little sisters were in the car with her and witnessed the whole thing as well. We hope the victim will recover and not have any long term health consequences. Prayers also to the HS passengers still on the bus and who witnessed their classmate being hit by a car as she ran across the street, that is just horrible!! Please keep us posted on the victim's condition.

The female victim is my best friend. I love her so dearly, she's my other half, my sister, my everything. Please pray that she makes it out of this safely. I could never live with myself if she didn't.
Tina Tyra August 18, 2011 at 08:48 PM
Hailey, the one thing about Wildomar is that we have a very connected, loving community. If there is anything needed or that we can do, please post it here and it will be done. My best friend from high school is still my best friend 30 years later, so I know how you feel about her. Prayers and blessings. :(

To Anita Drink, the mother of the young victim that is in the hospital is a kindergarten teacher. She taught her daughter and all the other kids that went in her class room to look right and left before crossing. She also gave them hugs, taught them how to read and write as we parents entrusted our kids to her as they begin their school life. Please pray for this beautiful young lady who is almost seventeen years old. She is a happy, vibrant, smart young lady who went to Cole Canyon Elem, Thompson Middle school and now Murrieta Valley High School. Our dear Lord will heal her and ease her pain, she is a fighter, she will come out of it and be strong again. Please continue to pray for her and her family.

Teaching a child to cross the street safely doesn't mean she would never have an accident. gees.. ;( Prayers for everyone involved. I can't imagine harming anyone with my car.... I would be at that girls hospital room doing everything I could do for her and her family. Prayers for them all. Tragic accident .

Anonymous, very well said and thank you for saying it. It was an accident, for which two families will never be the same. I drive that road twice a day, in the morning to get to work and after 5 pm getting home, 5 days a week. I have never seen an accident there before but have witnessed people who drive too fast, don't signal etc. I will be praying for both of these young girls and their families.

It would be great if everyone learned from this horrible accident. Let ALL drivers not distract themselves while driving; let ALL drivers drive slowly when pedestrians are present; let ALL drivers drive more cautiously one unfamiliar streets; let ALL pedestrians be more aware of their surroundings; let ALL pedestrians be more cautious when walking on streets such as the one in this accident. Let's all just watch out for one another. My son goes to MVHS. Doesn't know this young lady, but she is MVHS family and our prayers go out to her for her speedy recovery and to the driver, because I am sure this wasn't an intentional act and she is suffering also.

What we should all be doing is trying to get proper signage and stop signs on the majorly needed streets in Wildomar...Who do we talk to at the city? I think on Prielipp Rd. & Catt Rd...Desperately need some added stop signs....
Michelle Deskin August 25, 2011 at 01:11 AM
Why is everything nobody's fault? How can someone driving not see a stopped bus & know that someone is not getting off the bus??? Drivers need to be more aware of stopping busses. I don't care if it is rural, be aware of pedestrians.... cars drive quickly by a pedestrian all the time...I lived over 18 years on a dirt road & live off a dirt road now. People can use the brains God gave them. We should not have to be TOLD to watch out for pedestrians, that is a give me. We should not have to be TOLD to allow people to cross, that is a give me. People should NOT have to be TOLD to drive slower, that should be a given. Just like pulling over for firemen, ambulances, flashing lights, etc... We all need to be more courteous to others & quit thinking about the next thing you have to do. Just care.....
jill August 25, 2011 at 02:30 AM
anonymous..... you use the word "runned" and you mispell and your grammer is horrible. You are uneducated to say the least and how do you know the driver tried to avoid this poor girl?? go back to elementary school please...

Thank you!!! I also know the girl crossing the street & she knew all of the rules. She attended Stanford for a 3 week summer course, she is brilliant! She was knocked off her sweet feet and didnt even know what hit her. While my prayers go out to both families, the driver of the car will NEVER understand the pain and loss that the victim's family is going through. Not only is this victim inteligent, she could've been a model. It's tragic!
One who cares September 17, 2011 at 05:24 AM
She didnt run across the street. Check the police report. The victim is in a COMA...

Thank you, Michelle! You are correct!

Thank you. Im prayin too!
One who cares September 17, 2011 at 05:52 AM
My comment down below was directed to you as far as a thank you for realizing that putting a beautiful, successful student, daughter, and sister in a coma that will forever impact her life because she felt it was safe to cross the street is not okay. Her life has been forever destroyed! While I can pray for both sides, I do not see any equal redemption here! Such a los!

Carol, you are such a wonderful source of strength and power. Im sure the family appreciates your support during this difficult time!
