The vehicle, a 2006 orange Pontiac GTO, attempted to negotiate a left turn from Mission Trail onto Corydon. Details:

On Sunday, April 24, 2011, about 2:03 AM, officers were dispatched to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision located at the intersection of Palomar Street and Washington Street. The driver, Ruben Venancio Ponce (age 19) of Wildomar, was located trapped inside his vehicle. He was extricated from the vehicle by Fire personnel and subsequently transported to a local hospital.

Preliminary investigation indicates Ponce was driving north on Palomar Street at a high rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over several times, prior to coming to rest upside down. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the collision.

The Wildomar Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the collision. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is encouraged to contact the Wildomar Police Department by calling (951) 245-3300.

The primary source of the data was through records contained within the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Data Warehouse program and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
