Details:

On Monday, April 16, 2012, at about 0118 hours, an officer from the Lake Elsinore Police Department observed a black Honda driving erratically in the area of Riverside Drive and Lincoln Street in the city of Lake Elsinore. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused. A low speed pursuit ensued, which continued onto Grand Avenue and ended in the 32900 block of Cedar Road in the unincorporated area of Lake Elsinore, when the driver, David Travers, 55 years old of Lake Elsinore, stopped in his driveway and surrendered.

Officers determined Travers was under the influence of alcohol. Further investigation revealed that he did not have permission to be driving the Honda. Additionally, Travers has several previous convictions for driving under the influence.

Travers was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, evading a peace officer and vehicle theft. He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center.

The Lake Elsinore Police Department would like to remind drivers that driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is aggressively enforced. Details:

On Monday, April 16, 2012, at about 0034 hours, officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department observed a silver Mercedes driving erratically in the area of Riverside Drive and Grand Avenue in the city of Lake Elsinore. Officers stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver and sole occupant, Ming Lei, 33 years old of Orange County.

Officers determined the driver was under the influence of illegal drugs. Further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of methamphetamines and Ecstasy.

Lei was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Southwest Detention Center.

The Lake Elsinore Police Department would like to remind drivers that driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is aggressively enforced.
