Suspected Drunk Driver Careens Onto Wildomar Sidewalk

Karl Rohlin, 21, of Wildomar, was arrested after he drove a 2002 red Mercury Mountaineer up on the sidewalk in the 23000 block of Catt Road and struck a cement light pole.

A man who drove on the sidewalk and crashed into a light pole in Wildomar this morning was allegedly drunk.

Karl Rohlin, 21, of Wildomar, was arrested after he drove a 2002 red Mercury Mountaineer up on the sidewalk in the 23000 block of Catt Road and struck the cement pole.

“During the investigation it was determined that Rohlin's driving was impaired due to the consumption of an alcoholic beverage,” said Sgt. David Sanches in a report.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. today.

“Southern California Edison and Wildomar Road Department responded for the damaged property. No road closures occurred during this incident,” Sgt. Sanches said.

A medical clearance was required prior to booking Rohlin in at the Southwest Detention Center, the sergeant said.
