Teen Runaway Found; 33-Year-Old Man Arrested

A Corona teenager who reportedly ran away from home a week ago was found today with a male adult who has been arrested in the case.

At 3:09 p.m. Thursday, Corona Police Department investigators found 15-year-old Corona High School student Jailyn Gutierrez who has been missing since Oct. 23. She was found at a local hotel with a man identified as Badir Isaac KH Abudaka, 33.

The teen’s condition was not described by police. All along investigators have said the teen ran away from home with a man in his early 30s.

Abudaka was arrested on felony charges. Other charges may be pending, as detectives are still actively investigating the case, according to Sgt. Kim Velasco.

A booking photo of the suspect and jail records were not immediately available because the booking process was still underway, Velasco said.

The girl went missing after she got inside of a red sedan near Corona High School last week, according to Detective Steve Sears. According to police, the teen “willingly” entered the vehicle. Her relationship with the suspect was not disclosed by police.
