Toddler Nearly Drowns in Lake Elsinore Community Pool

Three children suffered injuries-- one of them serious--  in near drownings in Riverside County this weekend.

The first involved a boy toddler "pulled from a community swimming pool" on Saturday evening in the 31900 block of Hollyhock Way in Lake Elsinore, said Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.

"Paramedics transported the child to an area hospital via ground ambulance with moderate injuries," Hagemann said.

In the second near-drowning, a girl rescued from a swimming pool Saturday at 5 p.m. in the 5400 block of Homecoming Circle in Eastvale, she said.

"The patient will be transported via ground ambulance to an area hospital with moderate injuries," Hagemann said.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department was investigating that case, she said.

In the third incident, a Temecula toddler was hospitalized in serious condition after being pulled from a residential swimming pool, according to fire officials.

and so it begins. I cringe every year right about this time...horrible. The drownings start as soon as it warms up and school lets out. I don't understand how you can turn your back on your kids while they are in the pool. Irresponsible and horrible.
