A vehicle inside an un-attached garage caught fire and the flames spread to nearby vegetation.

Black smoke rising along the eastern boundary of Wildomar Wednesday evening was caused by a vehicle fire inside a garage, authorities say.

The blaze, reported at 5:47 p.m., occurred in the 32400 block of Cottonwood Canyon Road.

According to a report from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson, a vehicle inside a free-standing garage caught fire and the flames spread to nearby vegetation.
