Woman Left For Dead On Local Roadway
It was not immediately clear whether the woman was walking along the shoulder of Cajalco or in traffic lanes when she was hit.
An investigation was underway today into the hit-and-run death of a woman in Perris.
The victim, possibly a transient whose identity had not been confirmed, died around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday after she was struck on Cajalco Road, just west of Seaton Avenue.

The Riverside County Coroner's Office indicated the victim may have been struck by more than one vehicle before she was found and authorities were called to the scene. The area is sparsely populated, with vacant lots on all but one corner.
According to the California Highway Patrol, investigators were tracking down leads in the case, but no arrests had been made.
