Kevin Jeffries (R-Lake Elsinore) Reappointed As Chair On Working Group

The assemblyman was reappointed as the Chairman of the Assembly's Rural Fire Protection Working Group for the 2011-2012 legislative year.

Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries (R-Lake Elsinore) announced today that he has been reappointed as the Chairman of the Assembly's Rural Fire Protection Working Group for the 2011-2012 legislative year.

According to Jeffries’ office, the Rural Fire Protection Working Group focuses statewide on:

  • Evaluating current fire prevention programs and resources;
  • Ensuring access to adequate training facilities and programs;
  • Identifying funding mechanisms, staffing needs, communication barriers;
  • Encouraging volunteer firefighter recruitment and retention; and,
  • Promoting integrated rural fire protection services.

"In my position as Chairman of the Rural Fire Protection Working Group, I can continue my work in advocating on behalf of fire protection issues during my final term in Sacramento,” the assemblyman said in a news release Tuesday.

Jeffries’ bio includes 29 years as a volunteer firefighter, engineer and captain.
