More Time Needed To Address Concerns Over Wildomar's Oak Creek Canyon Project

The Oak Creek Canyon project calls for 275 single-family homes and a five-acre commercial center to be constructed near The Farm off Bundy Canyon Road.

Wildomar will likely put off deciding whether to approve a large-scale development project on the northeast side of the city until later this month.

During the May 8 regularly scheduled city council meeting, staff will recommend that council members move discussion of the proposed Oak Creek Canyon tract housing and commercial center project to May 22.

According to city documents, more time is needed to respond to public concerns on the project.

If the council does vote to delay a decision on the proposed development, it will be the third time it has done so over the last six weeks. On March 27, the project came to the council, and then again on April 23. In both cases, public testimony and concerns filed with the city over the project have postponed a council vote. During the April 23 meeting, council members did not discuss the project and there were no comments from the applicant.
