Vice Chairman Of Wildomar Planning Commission Resigns

Citing the demands of a job in Orange County, Michael Kazmier, vice chair of the Wildomar Planning Commission, submitted his written resignation to the city Wednesday.

The announcement was read Wednesday night by Wildomar Planning Director Matt Bassi during the regularly scheduled planning commission meeting.

Kazmier was not in attendance for the meeting.

His seat is expected to be filled quickly. City council members are scheduled to formally accept his resignation during their Dec. 12 meeting. At that time, they will likely authorize staff to post a notice inviting the community to apply for the vacant commission seat.

Kazmier was appointed to the planning commission by Wildomar City Councilwoman Marsha Swanson, who currently serves as mayor pro tem.

Once applications are received for Kazmier's replacement, Swanson will recommend her top picks to the council. Council members will have the final vote on the selection process.
