Wildomar and Lake Elsinore will see its varsity football teams host adversaries Friday night in round two of CIF playoffs action.
The Elsinore Tigers will take on Rancho Verde Moreno Valley and the Temescal Canyon Titans face Kaiser Fontana.
With their 55-7 win Nov. 9 at home against the Colton Yellowjackets in the first round of the CIF Southern Section playoffs, Elsinore Tigers football is looking to repeat a roll that began in 2010.
Two years ago the Tigers claimed the CIF Championship for the first time in the school’s history, and last year they advanced in the playoffs.
As for the blue team in Lake Elsinore, they’re hopeful their 21-3 win Nov. 9 at Palm Springs during the first round of the Southern Section playoffs was a sign of games to come.
Before last week’s victory, the Titans’ last playoff game was two seasons ago when they lost to a tough Serrano team, 14-0, in the first round.
TCHS fans are hoping for a return to a finish at least as good as the 2006 squad that nearly won it all, losing a close one to Temecula’s Chaparral, 24-19.
Titans’ football mom Carrie Trimble is ready for Friday’s important game. Her son Sean, a junior, is the TCHS quarterback.
“Our boys are making history and hoping we fill the stands to cheer [them] onto the semi finals!”
Kickoff time for both of Friday's home games is 7 p.m. Elsinore High School is located at 21800 Canyon Drive in Wildomar; Temescal Canyon High School is located at 28755 El Toro Road in Lake Elsinore.
Go Tigers and Titans!
