Lakeside Boys Soccer Wins CIF Championship

The victory marks the first time in the school's history that a Lancers team has won a CIF Championship.

The Lakeside Lancers boys soccer team made history Saturday by claiming the school's first ever-team CIF Championship win.

The Lancers took on Cajon at Warren High School in Downey and walked away with a hard-fought 3-1 victory to capture the CIF-Southern Section, Division 5 Championship.

According to the players and team coach Collin Gilliland, the season was dedicated to former who was killed in a tragic car accident last year.

Saturday's triumph follows the school's first-ever individual CIF win Friday when senior Armani Bains claimed Lakeside's CIF-Southern Section title at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield. Click here to read more about that story.
